Shannon McQuade
Clinical Psychologist
I believe one of the bravest things you can do is step into a therapy room and begin the journey of self-discovery. It’s hard to know whether your psychologist is going to be a good fit for you, so here is a little bit about me. I am as real as it gets – I laugh, I cry, I love photos of your dogs, I bake. The list could go on, but we are also here to find out how I may be able to help you.
Life is too precious to succumb to unhealthy relationships, let trauma control us, live in constant anxiety, or permit intrusive thoughts to define who we are or what we do. I want you to feel empowered to take back what is within your control, to find meaning in your life so that you can move forward in the direction that is far more value driven.
In my practice, I make sure to create a warm and welcoming environment for all my clients (aged 18+) who have presented for all sorts of different reasons. It is important to me that you feel supported and encouraged to work towards your therapeutic goals. I offer a range of evidenced based approaches, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, interpersonal therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, exposure and response prevention, motivational interviewing, and schema therapy. Whilst evidenced based, I am also client centred which means that I tailor therapy to suit what you need.
